I haven't seen any activity on here for a while so I thought I'd see what everyone has been up to. Not much has changed here in the last few months. Eagerly awaiting our first grandbaby (Ian Brenner) and have been busy packing for a belated anniversary trip to Disneyland (without the kids this time!) Hope to hear from some of you (or all of you...) soon! Have a wonderful fall! Sandi

Sandi, Have a great trip!!! Vacation withouth the kids...WOW! I wonder what that is like... :) Although if the opportunity should arise, I would still end up taking my kids. Can't leave home without them. :) I would worry too much about them, AND the guilt would set in that I'm having a good time without them. Anyway, have a great time.

Thanks Roxann. We went to Disneyland in Mar 2005 for my parents 50th anniversary and there were 12 of us! This time no kids...(Besides my kids are 19 and 20 and they are planning their own things!) Talk to you soon! Sandi

The ex and I went on a 7-day cruise back in 2003 -- his aunt watched the kids for us so that we could have an "adults only" vacation. It was really nice -- didn't save the marriage though. Oh well -- I'm dating someone now that doesn't treat me like a piece of furniture. NICE...

Ironically, we dated 19 years ago -- he was my last boyfriend before I met the ex. He told me that he feels he is getting a second chance -- to do it RIGHT this time. Time will tell... Sandi -- GOOD LUCK with the new grandbaby!! How exciting -- I cannot even imagine becoming a grandmother. I turn 40 in a couple of months -- that's enough for me right now.

I had to grin as I read the Disneyland vacation stories. I'll tell you a real vacation. The grandparents took both my kids last week...for a whole week. We went out to dinner, the house stayed clean, and it was so quiet. I was ready for them to come home, but what a nice break from routine. (Right now I am hearing, "Mommmmm, Madelyn is in my room!) Glad to hear you three are well. Things here in Forks are good. I'm bummed that it seems "the rains" have started early. And for those of you in the know of educational jargon the school I teach at didn't make AYP year before last and barely did this last year so we are working our butts of to figure out how to get kids to pass the WASL/improve scores a significant amount. A bit stressful. Take Care of yourselves!

Hey Cheryl, I'm also glad to see you are doing well. Kudos to you and everyone in the teaching profession, I don't know how you all do it. I volunteer 3 days a week in my children's classroom (kindergarten and 1st grade) helping out with reading and writing centers. The patience, understaning, love and care that these teachers and para-pros show everyday are amazing!!! God bless them! On the other end of the spectrum, I'm juggling an extremely busy calendar for my 10th grader...academics, sports, confirmation, community service hours/project, etc. I don't know how he does it, my part is easy. As a parent, I am thrilled to have the teachers that my children have in school. I know that I could not do what you are doing, again, KUDOS TO YOU! Everyone ready for Halloween? And the rest of the holidays coming up? I love this time of year, the weather starts to cool down and the leaves begin to turn colors. My favorite times of the year are spring and fall here in Georgia, it's beautiful and the weather is wonderful.
Have a great day, everyone.

Victoria...congrats on the new home. It sounds like you deserve to have a great guy in your life and sounds like you are doing well. Cheryl...you are one busy lady! It is nice to have the kids gone for a few days but by day 2 (or 3) you find yourself wanting the chaos back! My oldest and I have been at each others throats for the past few months and he went to Oklahoma for a week to see my parents, man, did I miss the arguements! lol! We are looking forward to this trip though. It will be the first time in 20 years that Lloyd and I will actually have some time for just us! Hopefully it hasnt been the kids keeping us together! LOL! I am soooo ready to go, I wish we could have left a week ago. I sure miss seeing everyone and hope you are all well! Take care and keep in touch!

Hi Everyone, It's fun to read your messages, I have time now that school has started, our boys are in 6th and 8th grade. So far, so good... Yay!! I'm so excited, next summer we get to come up to Seattle and go on a cruise to Alaska with my Joe's family, has anyone ever been, and if so do you have any suggestions or advice??? We have never been on a cruise. Let me know...

Hey Michelle, glad to see ya on the message board. I know what you mean by "having time" now that your boys are back in school. All three of my kids are finally in school full time and I'm LOVIN' IT!!! (And they love being in school too.) I thought I would go crazy without us running around constantly but it's actually been nice not having to "live" in the car. Have fun on your cruise next year, sounds wonderful. The Alaskan cruise is suppose to be the best (according to my father-in-law who is retired Delta pilot) one around.

Hey Roxann, yes it is nice having the kids back in school, this is the first year I am not helping out in their schools, so that is kind of nice also. It seems that they have so much homework now, I don't remember having so much work to do every night in middle school, it's kind of crazy.

Just wanted to let you know we had a blast in California! We got stuck in the I-5 traffic mess from that big wreck but were sure glad to get home. I am now nursing a serious sunburn...who knew that you could get burnt even using sunscreen! Oh well, I will be starting out fall/winter with a wicked tan! Hope everything is going well for you all and talk to you all soon!

Sandi, It looks as if you came to California at just the right time, it's pretty bad here now with the fires all around, all of the schools are keeping the kids inside all day, ash is flying in the air and it smells like smoke everywhere. Pray that the winds die down.

Michelle, We are soooo glad to have gone when we did. We hope you and your family are out of the danger areas. We had a blast and hope everyone in the fire areas are doing well. Keep us informed!
